Jim is one of the original five “founders” who pulled together and worked diligently to resurrect and restructure the current CVC as we know it today. Recently retired, Jim devoted nearly 38 years of service as a Syracuse Firefighter, including 7 years as President of Syracuse Fire Fighters Association, Local 280, IAFF. Besides serving as CVC Treasurer, Jim also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Central New York, presently serving in the capacity of Assistant Chair for the Volunteer Resources Division Committee.
Jim is a lifelong resident of Westvale and is a former elected Town Councilor for the Town of Geddes. He also coached Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football for many years when his children were active in those programs.
Jim’s other current involvements include: Greater Syracuse Labor Council (Treasurer); Syracuse Workforce Development Institute (Board Member); Burn Foundation of Central New York (Co-Founder & Chairman);Syracuse Firefighters Memorial Fund (Founder & Chairman Trustee); The Retired Professional Firefighters Cancer Fund, Inc. (Vice President); Salvation Army (Christmas Bureau Planning Committee Member); and, Syracuse Corvette Club (President). Jim finds great satisfaction and many rewards from his volunteer activities and community involvement and strongly encourages everyone to make a difference by getting involved! To quote Paulo Coelho, "The world is changed by your example, not your opinion."
