Leadership

The Corporate Volunteer Council is led by nine cabinet members who volunteer their time to see that the organization runs smoothly. If you are interested in volunteering with the Corporate Volunteer Council, please email us at info@cvc-cny.org.

Nichola (Nicki) Arnett

narnett@bsk.com

Nichola works for the law firm of Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC as the Director of Human Resources in the firm’s Syracuse Office.  She was formerly employed by the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario where she managed human resources and labor relations for 700 unionized and non-unionized staff.  She attended the Masters of Industrial and Labor Relations graduate program at Michigan State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Relations from LeMoyne College in 1989.

Terry Hopkins
Vice-President
thopkins@cscos.com

Terry, Community Service Coordinator at C&S Companies, has been involved with the CVC since 2004.  Shortly after becoming involved she joined the Program Committee and later served as the Project Committee Chair.

As Community Service Coordinator, Terry leads the C&S in-house Community Service Team (CST).  The CST believes that it is our collective responsibility, as a good corporate citizen, to support the communities in which we live and work. In doing so, each of us as individuals can also make a difference.

Terry’s community interests are focused around making a better community for the next generation and wants to have unlimited reasons her children to stay right here in central New York.

James Ennis
Treasurer

Jim is one of the original five founders who pulled together and worked diligently to resurrect and restructure the current CVC as we know it today.  Jim has over 32 years experience as a Syracuse Firefighter, including 6 years as President of Syracuse Fire Fighters Association, Local 280, IAFF.

Besides serving as CVC Treasurer, Jim also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Central New York, presently serving in the capacity of Vice Chair for Volunteer Resources Division Cabinet.

Jim is a lifelong resident of Westvale and is a former elected Town Councilor for the Town of Geddes.  He also coached Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football for many years when his children were active in those programs.

Jim's other current involvements include: Greater Syracuse Labor Council (Treasurer); Central New York Council on Occupational Safety & Health (Steering Committee Member); Syracuse Workforce Development Institute (Board Member); Syracuse Firefighters Memorial Fund (Founder & Chairman Trustee); Salvation Army (Christmas Bureau Planning Committee Member); Syracuse Corvette Club (Member).

Jim finds great satisfaction and many rewards from his volunteer activities and community involvement and strongly encourages everyone to make a difference by getting involved!

Jennifer Pontello
Secretary
jpontello@gilbertilaw.com

She is a Paralegal with the law firm of Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, P.C., in their Tax Certiorari and Condemnation Department. Collecting food and donations for others in need has always been close to Jennifer’s heart.  During her college years, Jennifer was actively involved in Y.A.C.H.T. Club, Youth Against Complacency and Homelessness Today, feeding and bringing clothes to the homeless in Philadelphia, PA. Actively involved in the Gilberti Law Firm’s in-house Volunteer Corps, Jennifer dedicates time monthly to organize firm fundraisers and activities to give back to the CNY community.
