CVC CELEBRATES THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF DICTIONARY DAY
For the past 10 years the Corporate Volunteer Council and members have purchased and presented to every third grader in the Syracuse City Schools.
This year we supplied dictionaries with thesauruses combined at a cost of $2.50 per book as well as Spanish dictionaries where needed. Our members managed to supply over 1,400 books for happy students across the district.
This year our CVC sponsors were: Armory Capital Management, LLC, Bousquet Holstein, PLLC and Grossman St. Amour, CPAs PLLC; Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC; Carrier Corporation; FIXit Zone/Syracuse University; Fust Charles Chambers, LLP; GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies; Gilberti Stinziano Heintz & Smith, PC; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and 100 Black Men of Syracuse; Lockheed Martin; SUNY Upstate Medical University; Syracuse Fire Fighters Association, Local 280 IAFF; and University College of Syracuse University.
Syracuse Inner City Rotary Club remained a partner with CVC in this project and once again, sponsored Bellevue Elementary School.
Special thanks goes to the following people who generously gave of their time to install the bookplates in the dictionaries: Cristina Jardine (AccessCNY/Young Leaders United); Katelyn Allen, Matthew Berrigan, Mary Katharine Buckley and Sheila Graudons (Fust Charles Chambers, LLP); John Percival (GE Inspection Technologies); and Shavel Edwards (United Way of Central New York).
